I grew up in Kansas and trained at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where I learned the value of thorough, compassionate primary-care-based medicine. I completed my psychiatry residency—and served as Chief Resident—at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. Working in such a fast-paced, high-volume setting shaped my ability to stay grounded, attentive, and thoughtful even in the most complex situations.
After residency, I joined the faculty at NYU and cared for patients in the Bellevue psychiatric emergency department while also building a private practice. In my practice, I treated a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, ADHD, trauma, depression, and psychosis. Over time, I developed particular interests in adult ADHD, women’s mental health, and substance-use disorders.
My career has since taken me across the country—and across the world. I served as an Attending Psychiatrist, Medical Director, and Department Chair at Adventist Health in St. Helena, California, before accepting an opportunity to live and work in Italy. Today, I continue to live in Italy, caring for families of American military service members stationed overseas. I also maintain an active telehealth practice supporting patients in the U.S.
Wherever I’ve worked, my goal has remained the same: understanding what you’ve been carrying, and helping you find a path toward relief, clarity, and healing.
